Family home in Cutler, Maine 1924. . My grandmother is holding my father next to her mother and grandmother.

In 2019 I traded my studio in the Neumann Leather Factory in Hoboken, New Jersey for one in the Pepperell Mill in Biddeford, Maine. From this vantage point I began to explore the nearby coast at Biddeford Pool. When I was a boy my family used to camp on the Saco River in North Conway, New Hampshire. Over 50 years later I am often at the mouth of the Saco River in Biddeford Pool. On a clear day you can even see Mount Washington in New Hampshire to the northwest.

It has been a year of seasonal change, the daily flux of the tides and all kinds of weather. Everyday I live here I feel more in tune and more at home. I explore the world through painting and it is a privilege to paint these scenes. With my partner and my children and grandchildren living nearby there is no place I would rather be.
